CertificateMakerDesign a certificate of achievement, course completion, award, participation or appreciation beside a live preview: five templates, six borders, your fonts, colours, logo and signature, A4 or Letter, and a PDF or PNG for one recipient or a whole list. Nothing is uploaded.
This is to certify that
has successfully completed the requirements and demonstrated outstanding performance in all assigned tasks.

CertificateMaker is for certificates that you or your organisation issue yourselves: courses you teach, events you run, awards you give. Do not use it to imitate a certificate, diploma or qualification of a school, university, employer or awarding body.
Achievement, Course Completion, Award, Participation or Appreciation. Each sets a title, a title colour and an accent colour to start from, and tints the paper lightly; everything can be changed afterwards. Save Template keeps a design of your own for next time.
The title, a subtitle such as "This is to certify that", the recipient's name, a sentence or two about what was achieved, the issuer's name, and the date in one of four formats. The preview redraws with every keystroke.
Choose a title font and a body font (Georgia, Times New Roman, Palatino, Book Antiqua, Arial, Segoe UI, Helvetica), the size of the title and of the name, and left, centre or right alignment. Then set the title, text, background and accent colours.
Six border styles, drawn in your accent colour: Classic, Modern, Elegant, Minimal, Ornate or None. Pick A4 or US Letter, landscape or portrait, and drop your organisation's logo on the upload box to place it above the title.
Draw a signature on the pad with the mouse or a finger and click Use Signature, upload an image of a signature, or type a name and show it in a script font. The label under the line ("Authorized Signature", "Principal", "Director") is yours to set.
PDF saves a one-page file at the chosen paper size, PNG a sharp image, Print sends the page to your printer. For a class or an event, Bulk (CSV) reads a list of names and makes one PDF with a page for each.
Names, achievements, a logo and a signature are not things to hand to a server. This tool has no server side: the certificate is drawn in the page, the PDF and the PNG are made on your device, and the only copy that leaves it is the file you download.
Achievement, Course Completion, Award, Participation and Appreciation, each with its own tint and colours, and Classic, Modern, Elegant, Minimal, Ornate or no border, all drawn in whatever accent colour you choose.
Serif or sans-serif fonts for the title and the body, separate sizes for the title and the recipient's name, four colours, and your organisation's logo above the title. The preview keeps the paper's proportions, so what you see is what prints.
Draw on the signature pad, upload an image of a real signature, or type a name in one of four script fonts. The signature sits above a line with the label of your choice, beside the date and the issuer's name.
A4 or US Letter, landscape or portrait. The PDF is made at that page size, the PNG at double resolution for a crisp print or screen, and Print sets the page to match, so nothing is cropped or shrunk.
A CSV of names becomes one PDF with a certificate per page, the same design throughout. Save Template keeps your layouts under a name, Duplicate copies a certificate for the next recipient, and History lists the last twenty you made.
A certificate is a small formal document, and the conventions are old enough that readers notice when one is missing. The tool prompts for each element below and places it where a reader expects it: title at the top, the name in the middle, the signatures along the bottom edge.
"Certificate of Achievement", "Certificate of Course Completion", "Award Certificate": the title says what kind of document this is in three or four words, in capitals and a serif face with some letter spacing. The subtitle beneath it ("This is to certify that") leads into the name.
The name is the largest text on the page after the title, and often larger, set on its own line with a rule beneath it. Everything else is there to frame it. The Name Size control is separate from the title size for this reason.
One or two sentences in the description: the course completed, the award won, the event attended, the standard reached. The date block in the footer gives the day, in the format your readers use (January 1, 2026; 01/01/2026; 2026-01-01; 1 January 2026).
The issuer's name under the right-hand line, and the logo above the title. A reader checks these first when deciding whether the certificate means anything, so use the organisation's full name and its real logo rather than a clip-art seal.
A certificate without a signature looks unfinished. A drawn or scanned signature reads as a personal commitment; a typed one in a script font is an honest placeholder when the signatory is not at hand. The label under the line names the role.
Landscape A4 or Letter is the usual choice because it frames the name well and fits a standard certificate holder; portrait suits a longer description. A border gives the page an edge: a double rule for a traditional look, a thin line for a modern one.
PDF draws the certificate at double resolution and places it on a page of the chosen size and orientation, so an A4 landscape design becomes an A4 landscape PDF that prints edge to edge. The file is named after the recipient. PNG saves the same drawing as an image, for a slide, a web page or a messaging app. Print sends the certificate alone to the printer with the page size and orientation already set; choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog for a second way to a PDF.
Bulk (CSV) is for the cases where one design serves many people: a class that finished a course, the participants of a workshop, the winners of a sports day. Prepare a CSV file with the names in the first column, one per line (a header row that says "Name" is skipped), and choose it in the Bulk window. The tool shows the first ten names and the count, and Generate All makes one PDF with a page for each name, using the template, text, logo and signature on screen. A hundred names take about half a minute.
All of this happens on your device. The certificate is never sent anywhere to be rendered, which also means the buttons work without an internet connection once the page has loaded. The fonts are the ones installed on your computer or phone: a certificate designed with Palatino on one machine and opened on another without that font will show a substitute, so export where you designed it.
Two things are kept in the browser between visits: the designs you save with Save Template, and a history of the last twenty certificates you exported (the recipient's name and the template, no images). Both live in this browser on this device, are never uploaded, and go with the site's data if you clear it.
Nowhere but your device. The certificate is drawn in the page as you type, and the PDF or PNG is made in your browser and downloaded. Saved designs and the history of recent certificates (names and templates only) are kept in your browser's storage on this device; nothing is sent to a server.
No. The logo and signature images are read by the browser and placed on the certificate on your device. They are part of the PDF or PNG you download and of nothing else.
Yes. Design one certificate, then click Bulk (CSV) and choose a CSV file whose first column holds the names, one per line. Every name becomes a page of one PDF, with the same template, text, logo and signature.
A4 and US Letter, each in landscape or portrait. The preview keeps the paper's proportions, the PDF is made at that page size, and Print sets the page size and orientation to match.
The fonts are the ones installed on the device you are using. A PDF or PNG made here keeps the look you saw; opening the tool on a device without, say, Palatino shows a substitute. Export where you designed it.
Yes. Save Template (Ctrl+S) keeps the template, border, text, fonts, colours and signature settings under a name in your browser; Load Template brings a saved design back. Duplicate copies the current certificate with a new recipient name.
